Wow, who saw that coming?

It’s not that sexting is rare, millions of people engage in it. It’s not that doing porn is anyone’s business other than hers. Even her sugar daddy lifestyle is between her and the foolish men she ate like Snickers (“You’re not you when you’re hungry.”).  It’s not even as if her early claims of Weiner being a hypocritically bad candidate she simply wanted to out soon turned into a “what’s in this for me” orgy. But it is an interesting expression of pop culture.

Courtney Stodden: Ain’t She America

Kim Kardashian was once asked if she knew what she was famous for. She replied, candidly and refreshingly, “I’m the girl with the big ass.” Some people might see that and lament the downfall of American civilization. I prefer to see the quintessential American story instead – parlaying nothing into a quite lucrative career. It don’t come much more entrepreneurial than that folks.

Reality TV: Making You Feel Superior Every Day

DistractionsREALITY WARS – Truthful, truthy, or just plain lies, America’s fascination with goobs on TV keeps their minds off of truly icky subjects.

Stephen Colbert coined the phrase Truthiness, defined as “a truth that a person claims to know intuitively from the gut or because it feels right without regard to evidence, logic, intellectual examination, or facts.” Based on that definition “reality” television shows even stretch that broad definition to something closer to realitiness, “the relative reality based on colorful characters and stupid premises without regard for the relative reality of either.” Or something like that.
