 Crapstorm Nation

Generally speaking, I have a fairly strong stomach when it comes to blogging. I write more days than I miss, but sometimes I take a day off. I take a day off because the unrelenting crapstorm our country has become is simply too much for me, and my rapidly rusting iron stomach, to digest.

I visit numerous news outlets from across the political spectrum daily - including the dreaded Faux News. I regularly branch out to see what’s going on in the worlds of science or business. I even check on the celebrity news - John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston are close to setting a date you know. There’s a lot of news out there, most of it bad.

I don’t think is a problem with the media. If they reported only happy news, no one would watch TV, listen to radio, or read a newspaper. As they say, when dog bites man, it ain’t news. When man bites dog, then you have a story.

Sadly, there’s a whole lotta bitin’ goin’ on.

Here’s a sample just from today’s headlines:

Read ‘Em and Weep

A Nation of Goofballs and Rubes
These things happen because we’re a nation of goofballs and rubes. Half of us thinks missing mayo on a Subway meat rocket is 911-worthy. The other half of us complains about the government, yet keeps electing people willing to eviscerate the Constitution at the drop of a hat.

I blog because I feel compelled to rage against such stupidity. Someone has to stand up and say something, so I figure it might as well be me. Instead, we’re a nation of lemmings willing to be duped up to the cliff before the charlatans of the world kick the nation over the edge.

On the way down, we discuss who’s winning on Dancing with the Stars with the other lemmings hurtling toward the rocks below. In Acapulco, they do this for free. However, our nation is paying dearly for the privilege of dashing our brains out on the rocks.

Corrupt Skidmarks, You’re on Notice
It’s a sad day, but I’ll be back at the keyboard tomorrow - even if it’s something of a futile effort and causes terminal gastritis. I do that by remembering these words from JFK:

“Every time we turn our heads the other way when we see the law flouted, when we tolerate what we know to be wrong, when we close our eyes and ears to the corrupt because we are too busy or too frightened, when we fail to speak up and speak out, we strike a blow against freedom and decency and justice.”

Oh yeah, I’ll be back at the keyboard tomorrow and I’m putting you corrupt skidmarks on notice.

I’m swinging the mighty pen and I’m coming for you.

Nice Post ! Refreshing to see someone else notices these things.

Yes, it is a shit storm and will only get worst. Much, much worst.

I believe it is because we are falling away from the lessons taught by our ancestors and because we have grasped onto money rather than God.

For this, we will pay dearly. Very very dearly. Believe it or not.

I think we’re already withdrawing the money from a failed bank to pay for it.

We’ve been hiring “employees” to run our “company” that dont think that the company can actually produce a decent product. How else did we think that things would turn out.

Shitstorm indeed. The next four years should be interesting.
