Hillary and the Clinton Campaign Bible June 2

The fat lady supposedly sang on Saturday, but things ain’t over as far as Hillary Clinton is concerned.
The democratic big wigs held their meeting and decided to go Solomon-like on Michigan and Florida by splitting the difference between the two candidates. Considering they’re the boneheads that set the whole confused mess in motion, it was about the best anyone could reasonably hope for. However, the end game was already pre-ordained. By Saturday, the most ardent Clintonistas would’ve been satisfied with nothing less than an Obama concession speech topped by a mea culpa on bended knee begging forgiveness for inconveniencing the Mighty Hillary.
The Clinton Campaign Bible
Unfortunately, Hillary has taken not just a page, but the whole damn book from Hubby Bubba. The Clinton Campaign Bible sayeth that all is fair in love and politics and everything else comes second. Although Bill was a reasonably good president, no one can deny he constantly put himself in dangerous positions with the belief he was the Anointed One. His arrogance damaged his presidency and the nation and set an expectation that the Clintons are about as honest as an Arctic winter day is long. Hillary not only failed to realize she was saddled with this baggage, but has gone to great, though unintended, lengths to reinforce it. Her Johnny-Come-Lately screeds about experience, racism, sexism, media unfairness, and vast right-wing conspiracies are no more than putrid political icing on the cake.
Hopefully, the supporters who now vow to take their straw hats and balloons to Walnuts McCain’s party in protest will come to their senses. A similar pique helped lose the election for Wooden Al and could very well do the same now. I’d ask those supporters to look at a few things using their heads rather than their emotions.
No More Governance By Division
Hillary, by nature, political perspective, and heritage is divisive. While you may see her behavior as a holy quest for the presidential grail, more see her as a selfish pain in the patootie. The republicans know this, they’ve long-stated a preference for running against her precisely because of her divisive effect on the democratic party and the galvanizing effect she has on the republican base. There are times when a divisive leader is needed, but this isn’t one of them. The past 8 years of governance by division has a name - and it’s George Bush.
Hillary, you’ve made your cases many times and have simply lost the arguments. That’s the nature of elections, someone wins someone loses, and the best thing you can do is join with the party and find a place for your formidable skills. This campaign isn’t about sexism, racism, or experience. It’s not about bad media coverage or Appalachian voters. It’s about exactly what you say it’s about, choosing the most electable candidate.
The democratic party has its benchmarks for that, even if you don’t like them. They’ve nearly finished applying these benchmarks and barring something very unlikely, you’ll come up short. You can continue to plead your case - it’s your right. But understand that in doing so you are emboldening the opposition, damaging your party, and worst of all, damaging yourself. There’s no shame in saving the fight for another day. You’re a very smart woman and I hope you can recognize that sooner rather than later.
For all our sakes.

What do I think?
I read your first sentence and decided to stop reading your article.
NYSmike Jun 2
Lost the argument? The argument was never heard! The DNC, the Obama campaign and the media have decided long before a vote was even cast. Wonder what the numbers would be if the superdelegates voted according to their constituents? Wasn’t Obama and MoveOn.org screaming way back back for the supers NOT to overturn the voters? My how things have changed. My campaign funding will be more than welcomed by the McCain campaign along with my vote. The Independence Party will more than welcome my change in Party Affiliation. And the hateful, vulgar Obama supporters will have to try again in 2012.
Omnipotent Poobah Jun 2
BA,
Your loss.
NYSmike,
Sorry to disagree, but the arguments were heard repeatedly and I’m not sure why Obama supporters are vulgar or hateful.
I’m sure Walnuts will welcome your money, just remember that you get what you pay for.

Hillary supporters embarrass me.
They’d rather watch all hope of a progressive America go up in smoke than support the dem nominee.
Goodbye abortion on-demand. Hello war without end Amen.
When the Supreme Court is stacked with 7 or 8 far right wing judges who overturn Roe v. Wade I hope all these people standing up for Hillary because she’s a woman will hang their heads in shame.
Pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

Obama supporters embarrass me. They truly believe that this unvetted man child from Chicago is a progressive. ridiculous. He’s done nothing in 2 years in the senate to stop or even slow the war. He is a fraud.
I will never vote for Obama. Ever. Once one delves into his past it becomes a non starter.
Roe v Wade going down will not change a thing. The Kool-Aid drinkers are desperate. And It is laughable that Obama peeps still think he is going to end the war. Delusions piled upon delusions. Obama NO!

Let me see if I understand this… Obama supporters are worse than Republicans?
This election has officially driven people insane.

There are supporters of both Obama and Clinton that are stupid enough to vote for McShame if their favorite loses the nomination - it’s just that the Obamaniacs are sitting fat and happy.
What galls me is the MSM buzz about how Obama should choose Hillary as his running mate because she does so well with these important constituencies that he loses, dontcha know.
There is no way she can help as Obama’s Veep pick. She will alienate more voters, the Rethuglicans already have an ammo dump full of rumor bombs to throw at her, and let’s face it - ignorant white racists are not going to vote for Obama even if Jesus H. Christ were his running mate.
As a New Yorker, I’m ashamed we ever elected her and worked to defeat her last time around (in the primary), and I fervently hope we can end the Clinton political dynasty ASAP, and the DLC horse they rode in on.

Hillary voted to start the war. And that’s better?

Look Clinton supporters, you’re not the only ones sore for having your candidate lose. But, I beg you (most effectively, here in these here comments) to reconsider your republican voting threats. I felt as though Kucinich was the only candidate with any sort of ethics and decent political ambition to end the war and get healthcare to the people, but this is George Bush’s America. Why? Because we have this system in place, an electoral system, and even when W won over Gore because of it, no one went in to reform it, and here it still is.
Perhaps, Obama is not as experienced as Clinton. How helpful is McCain’s experience? He’s vowed to stay the course. At least with Obama the likelihood is 100% better that we will be out of Iraq in the next 100 years. And, I like the competent people he’s surrounding himself with, you know. A president has a lot of power, but the people he or she surrounds him or herself with is crucial. Clinton and Edwards and others, I imagine will give advice. Obama is a president for a younger generation, my children, who will help them think that the US can be a different kind of place, and they will go with the hype (yes) and make that happen, as is the way of all self-fulfilling prophecy. McCain’s future is more death, plundering of resources, and denial of the drastic changes we need to make to survive as a species in the face of global warming… if it’s not too late. Seriously, I hope the bruised egos heal by November.

Robert Rouse Jun 2
I am attending a party tomorrow with other Obama supporters. I’m hoping she concedes. Our host has promised to buy everyone’s drinks if Hill goes under. I’m savoring Wednesday morning’s hangover already.
NYSmike Jun 3
Robert Rouse…that’s a whole lotta Kool-Aid!
Look people…the DNC has said over and over again UNITY, UNITY, UNITY! They have tied Clinton’s hand during the primaries saying don’t say anything bad that could hurt him in the General! It was decided long, long ago. How else do you get Michigan delegates you haven’t earned? Anyway, with a House and Senate sure to make democratic gains and all this cry of UNITY, having a republican president ain’t so bad after all. They can stick together and ties his hands!
Now, on to the General Election….where Obama leaves all those Progressives in the dust!
Robert Rouse Jun 3
That’s right, NYSmike, I’m a mindless Jonestown resident following our own Jim Jones. I could not have possibly made an informed decision on my own. By the way, we’re drinking Flavor-Aid. Rev. Jim was too cheap to buy the real stuff.

This is exactly why I’m running for Emperor.
No more elections, no more Wingnuts, and/or Moonbats.
I hope Hillary stomps, and throws herself to the floor during her concession speech.
It would be a fitting end.
I will say, it shouldn’t come as a surprise Hillary supporters are threatening to vote for Mc Thuselah.
The Clintons were/are the most successful Neo-Cons in history.
